Alert listeners who are not currently listening to your show

When you go live with your show, or even if your show is not live, if you @ people (e.g., @barneyrubble) in the chat, those people will get notifications in the Stationhead app and also to their phone if they have notifications set up that way. As long as this is not abused, it is a decent way to alert certain folks that you are doing a show; especially if it is a pop-up.

saving music on stationhead

liking is great, but where are they going??
if you click on the song itself, to the left of the heart, you'll get a drop down menu with options of where to save, eg: a specific playlist.

Using an external mic/headphones on iPad

Your external mic and headphone might sound fine during the "Mic Test" on SH, but when you go live, SH may use your iPad's default mic. To address this, try UNPLUGGING and RE-PLUGGING the mic/headphone AFTER going live.

Monitor song timings in your music streaming service

One way to get around the vagaries of the music track status bar in Stationhead is to open your music streaming service on a different device (or in a separate window if you're hosting from a browser on a computer) and monitor your playlist from there. Stationhead is literally pulling the music in from your Spotify and/or Apple Music account, so you will be able see the precise times remaining in the songs as they play.

Create a standing playlist of silent tracks/"walk-on" music options

If you want to intersperse silent tracks between songs on a regular basis, save a standing playlist of silent tracks in your streaming service that can be imported into any show at any time. Once you are live ... you will be able to re-arrange the silent tracks between songs in the music playlist as needed. The "silent" playlist can also include walk-on music options if you tend to use the same tune(s) over and over again. Editor's note: Look for "Silent Tracks" by Brett Black. Add them between the songs on your playlist and never have to panic when a song ends and you are not near the voice button!

Add an Apple Music playlist from your computer to Stationhead

If you are doing shows from your desktop/laptop on the web, you can create (or select) playlists on your computer and then share them with Stationhead. In Apple Music, right-click on a playlist and choose "Share" and then select "Copy Link". That's it. There is no "pasting"; the playlist should now appear in Stationhead. (You may need to have iCloud sharing set up.)

When hosting a show you can safely reload or restart your browser.

I've tested out reloading/refreshing the webpage your show is running from. And also quitting the browser and restarting it. In both cases, once the web page (re)loads, Stationhead displays a message "Your connection was interrupted, but your station is still on the air.". You can then reconnect.

Always refresh Stationhead when you start

Unlike Amp, the Stationhead app is likely to show stale information when you first open it. Creators that are currently live may show as coming-soon, and some shows that have ended may show up as being live. If on a smart device, swipe/drag down to cause it to reload/refresh.

Boost listeners with a third push notification to followers after going live!

What is the trick?
A shameless method to increase your show's number of listeners by sending your followers an additional push notification announcement after the initial "XYZ is going/is live!" announcement.

How do you do it?
Invite a listener to join as a co-host! Once the co-host accepts, another push notification announces, "DJ XYZ is live as a co-host on DJ ABC's show!" This notification is broadcast to both the host and co-host's followers, prompting followers to another Call to Action to join!

Blocking someone should be more robust.

When blocking someone's account, you should not be able to see/communicate with each other in chats.

More robust user profiles

User profiles should display more info than just the username. Allow space for a short bio or at the very least ...the ability to add a link to a bio elsewhere on the web.

Ability to stop / pause playlist

While I love the ability to let a playlist roll - I'll be exploring this - I would like an explicit option/toggle/mechanism to stop the music after a given song. Don't like guessing at it when trying to talk.

Listeners should not have to pay to hear

We should be able to play music on our own, alot of people can't afford to pay these days, especially some of the listeners who we invite, I believe those who are just there to listen should not have to pay to hear the music.
